About Marjie’s Farm
The Farmers:
Marjie has been gardening for over 20 years. She is very passionate about sustainable farming using no synthetic chemicals. While she is not currently certified organic, she uses organic standards. Over five years ago Marjie and her husband Dave moved to Swartz Creek to a 10.7 acre farm and expanded the seasonal outdoor garden which includes a variety of vegetables, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, ground cherries, herbs, and honey.
Marjie does not do this on her own, her husband Dave helps especially with the tilling, hauling, fence building, running for supplies, and of course enjoying the fresh produce. Nothing better than sampling right from the garden.
Marjie’s Farm is a USDA registered farm.
Marjie has completed the USDA and FDA sponsored Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Grower Training Course.
Seasonal Outdoor Growing:
Outdoor plants are started indoors from sustainable seeds from Baker’s Creek Heirloom Seeds in March then transplanted outdoors late spring. Plants are raised and cared for from seed to harvest. Seasonal produce starts to become available late spring. Produce grown this way is not only more nutritious but so much tastier. Farm produce is sold at our farm stand from Mid May through October by appointment only. In addition, we sell at the Pop Up Farm Markets on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. See flyer with locations and dates.
We have expanded to four beehives on the property. Raw honey is available for sale starting in the Fall.
Our growing season in 2025 has expanded with the addition of a high tunnel. We are able to grow produce earlier and later in the season.
